This experience invites visitors on an otherworldly journey hiking from a Live Oak/Ashe Juniper Savannah, through a limestone crevice into the Riparian Woodland of a cool sheltered canyon. This canyon was created over 100,000 years ago by the collapse of an immense limestone cave. At the head of the canyon, a sparkling waterfall drips 40 feet over fern-covered travertine columns into a vivid emerald pool. Visitors are guided behind the artesian spring-fed waterfall into a one-chamber limestone cave, examining cave formations and lush plant life seen in few other places in Texas.
